Friends of Bay Meadows Rally

Bay Meadows supporters gathered outside Stockbridge Capital’s San Mateo offices to protest Stockbridge’s (dba Bay Meadows Land Company) continued efforts to prevent San Mateo voters from having a say in their own city’s future.

Several supporters talked about the physical harassment they encountered last November while collecting signatures for the referendum.

Stockbridge’s spokesman, Adam Alberti from Singer Associates, was quoted in various newspaper articles as saying he hoped demonstrators would “conduct themselves lawfully and appropriately.” This from a group whose tactics are reminiscent of 1930s-style Chicago mob rule …
